The followup CD to Cressman’s “Homenagem Brasileira” showcases Brazilian jazz at its best, played by a mature ensemble that has been celebrating this music in concerts and festivals for the past 7 years. “Brasil-Sempre no Coração” includes compositions from Edu Lobo, Hermeto Pascoal, Baden Powell, Filó Machado, Jobim, and others, as well as a tribute to the great vocalist Elis Regina. In February, 1999, A Records (from Holland) released Sandy Cressman’s debut CD as a solo artist, "Homenagem Brasileira". Homenagem Brasileira is a musical journey through the rich world of Brazilian jazz. The CD pays tribute to the great composers Ivan Lins, Dori Caymmi, Tom Jobim, Vinicius De Moraes, Djavan, Filó, Gilberto Gil, Milton Nascimento, and others. The CD also includes tributes to such important performers as Nana Caymmi, Elis Regina and Leny Andrade.
